The New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal (administered by the Ministry of Justice) has published its decision not to allow hearsay evidence in the case of a practitioner charged with eight charges of misconduct or (alternatively) unsatisfactory conduct.

There is more information about the co-regulatory environment that we operate in on our website.

As this is an ongoing case before the Tribunal, the New Zealand Law Society | Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa cannot comment any further at this time.

The health and wellbeing of the legal profession is important to the Law Society. We support lawyers and non-lawyers in legal workplaces through a range of services including confidential counselling. Information about that and related services can be found here.
