Retired Court of Appeal Judge John Richard Wild has been appointed an Acting Judge of the Court of Appeal from 29 April 2019 to 28 April 2020.

Justice Wild retired in March 2017 after being appointed to the Court of Appeal in February 2011. After graduating from Victoria University of Wellington in 1968 he worked at Bell Gully before becoming a barrister sole in 1976. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1993 and to the High Court bench in 1998.

Retired Court of Appeal Judge Lynton Laurence Stevens has been appointed an Acting Judge of the Court of Appeal from 29 April 2019 to 28 April 2020.

Justice Stevens was a Court of Appeal judge from July 2010 until his retirement in August 2016. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1997 and a High Court Judge in 2006.

Maureen Jeanette Southwick QC and Rosemary Hossack Riddell, retiring District Court Judges, have been appointed acting District Court Judges and also to exercise the jurisdiction of the Family Court each for a term of two years, commencing on 15 May 2019 for Judge Southwick QC and 19 August 2019 for Judge Riddell.

Jane Hewat Lovell-Smith, retiring District Court Judge, has been appointed an acting District Court Judge and also to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Court for a term of two years commencing on 8 June 2019.

David Raymond Brown and Patrick Robert Grace, retiring District Court Judges have been appointed acting District Court Judges and also to exercise the jurisdiction of the Family Court each for a term of two years, commencing on 6 November 2019 for Judge Grace and on 9 November 2019 for Judge Brown.
