Bell Gully has announced the promotion of a special counsel and eight new senior associates.

Glenn Shewan becomes a special counsel in Auckland. Glenn is a specialist competition, regulatory and overseas investment lawyer, advising on merger control, cartels and misuse of market power claims. He was admitted in 2003 and worked at Allens in Melbourne from 2005 to 2007 and Linklaters in the United Kingdom from 2007 to 2011.

Adri Lock is a senior associate in the firms Auckland commercial property team. She was admitted in South Africa in 2004 and New Zealand in 2012 and has a broad range of property experience, with a particular focus on retail leasing.

Hannah Musgrave is a senior associate in Auckland. Admitted in 2011, she is an experienced commercial and criminal trial advocate and has experience in insurance, judicial review, local government matters, trust disputes and regulatory and white-collar crime.

Nicola Peak is a senior associate in the Wellington commercial property team. She was admitted in 2009 and specialises in property development, leasing and construction. Nicola acts for a number of the firm’s public and private sector clients.

Morgan Powell is a senior associate in the Auckland office. Morgan was admitted in 2011 and is an experienced commercial litigator with particular expertise in commercial, insurance and leasing disputes.

Hayden Roberts is a senior associate in the Auckland office. He is a specialist income tax lawyer with experience in tax disputes and litigation. Admitted in 2010 Hayden has been a member of Bell Gully’s income tax team for eight years.

Bridget Thompson is an Auckland-based senior associate who specialises in banking and finance. She was admitted in 2010 and worked for White & Case LLP in London from 2013 to 2016 before joining Bell Gully. She has undertaken a secondment to the ASB legal team since joining the firm.

Michael Tilley is an Auckland senior associate. He specialises in competition and regulatory matters and advises clients on all aspects of mergers and joint ventures, collaborative activities, cartel investigations and misuse of market power. Admitted in New Zealand in 2013 he was a senior legal counsel at the Commerce Commission before joining Bell Gully.

Rosemary Wooders has joined the firm’s Auckland office as a senior associate. Admitted in 2009 she is an experienced employment lawyer. She spent almost five years in London working for London law firms Dundas & Wilson (now CMS Cameron McKenna) and Macfarlanes.
