Tauranga lawyer Bill Holland has been presented with one of five Tindall Foundation awards for outstanding contribution to the local community.
The awards were presented by Governor-General Sir Jerry Mateparae, to mark the Tindall Foundation's 20th anniversary. The foundation was founded by Stephen and Margaret Tindall following the float of The Warehouse in 1995.
Mr Holland, who is a partner at Tauranga firm Holland Beckett, received one of the awards in recognition of his personal commitment and passion for driving and chairing the Community Foundation movement in the Bay of Plenty and across New Zealand, particularly his leadership in establishing the Acorn Foundation in 2003.
The Acorn Foundation is a Community Foundation which encourages people to leave a gift in their will or during their lifetime to benefit the western Bay of Plenty region.
