Ms Hoskin’s appointment will take effect from 18 August, with her swearing in being held on Friday 22 August 2025 at 3pm in the Auckland District Court.  
 
Ms Hoskin joined Crown Law in 2016 as a Crown Counsel based in Auckland. Throughout her time in the Criminal Group, she worked on many high-profile and complex criminal cases, appearing in the Court of Appeal more than 150 times and as lead counsel in the Supreme Court. In addition to her substantial caseload, she supported the development of many junior colleagues and ably led her team, when required.
