Hesketh Henry has announced the promotion of construction and infrastructure specialist, James Lewis, to Partner.

James Lewis

James joined Hesketh Henry in 2021. He advises on both contentious and non‑contentious construction matters for domestic and international clients. His experience spans major infrastructure and commercial projects, as well as construction disputes resolved through litigation, mediation and arbitration.

Prior to joining the firm, James practised for nearly a decade with international law firms Johnson Stokes & Master, Mayer Brown and Pinsent Masons in Hong Kong, where he worked on significant projects across China and the Asia‑Pacific region. He is admitted to practise in New Zealand, Hong Kong and New York, and has acted in arbitrations seated in New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Mainland China.

James plays an active role in the firm’s international practice and assists other sector groups where construction or arbitration expertise is required.

Hesketh Henry congratulates James on his appointment to the partnership.
