Juno Legal welcomes Marion Heppner and Sue Wray

Juno Legal has announced that Marion Heppner and Sue Wray have joined the team.

Marion Heppner joins the Juno team in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland and brings more than 25 years’ experience in legal and commercial roles across the television, film, media and sports sectors in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Europe. She joins Juno from the New Zealand Film Commission, where she was Head of Legal & Business Affairs and a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Earlier in her career, Marion held senior legal roles with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Fox Kids Europe in London, as well as business affairs roles with Channel 4 and the BBC. Her experience also includes commercial roles with TEAM Marketing AG in Switzerland and Sky Network Television in New Zealand, and she was Head of Legal and Business Affairs with South Pacific Pictures in Auckland. She began her legal career in commercial litigation at Lowndes Jordan and McElroys and later worked as a Foreign Legal Consultant at Baker & McKenzie in Hong Kong.

As a Juno Lawyer, Marion is supporting Airways. Marion holds an LLB and BA from the University of Auckland.

Sue Wray is based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Wellington and Te Waiharakeke, Blenheim, and brings more than 25 years’ experience advising boards, ministers, and senior leaders on public and administrative law, regulation, legislative reform, governance, and corporate and commercial matters. She comes to Juno from her role as Senior Legal Counsel at Kāpiti Coast District Council.  

Her previous roles include Chief Adviser positions at Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities and Acting Director – Legal at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. She also served as Director of Cheviot Consulting, advising public and private sector clients including Buddle Findlay, the Electricity Commission, the Department of Labour, the Ministry for the Environment, the Ministry of Justice, and Te Puni Kōkiri. Earlier in her career she was a Senior Solicitor at Buddle Findlay and worked in Parliament as a Select Committee Clerk.

As a Juno Lawyer, Sue is supporting Ara Poutama Aotearoa – Department of Corrections. Sue holds an LLB and BA from Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington.
