Two law students are among the five winners of the Ngārimu VC and 28th (Māori) Battalion Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship was established in 1948 in honour of the 28th Māori Battalion and supports future Māori leaders to be successful in education.

This year's masters recipient, Kingi Snelgar, is one of just three New Zealanders admitted to Harvard Law School. He says he aims to become a Supreme Court Justice.

Herewini Ammunson, who is studying law and commerce, is one of the three undergraduate recipients.
