The Role 

We are looking for a motivated Associate to join our commercial practice. You will work across a broad range of commercial matters including: 

• Commercial contracts, transactions, and advisory work 
• Business structuring and corporate governance 
• Regulatory and compliance advice 
• Matters engaging public law principles — where commercial and public law collide 

This is not a siloed role. At Franks Ogilvie, commercial lawyers engage with the broader legal and policy environment. If you have an interest in public law, constitutional issues, or the way regulation shapes business, you will find space to develop and use that interest here. 

About You 

We are looking for someone who: 

• Has 4 - 7 years' experience in commercial law (we will consider strong candidates outside this range) 
• Produces clear, precise, practical legal work 
• Enjoys working directly with clients and taking responsibility for outcomes 
• Is drawn to the breadth of a small firm and has no interest in being a cog in a large one 
• Has an interest in public law, regulation, or policy matters (experience is a bonus, curiosity is essential) 
• Is a confident communicator who can engage with complex issues accessibly
