About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Family Lawyer to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. This role requires a confident practitioner who can independently manage files and represent clients in court. 

Our main office is in Pukekohe with a secondary office in Papakura. You will be required to work across the South Auckland courts. This role will suit a confident family lawyer who can step in and run a full caseload independently, working across both parenting and relationship property matters.  

Key Responsibilities  

• Manage and progress your own family law files independently 
• Provide legal advice and representation in parenting and relationship property matters 
• Appear in court and advocate for clients 
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide practical, client-focused solutions 
• Ensure compliance with Legal Aid requirements and professional standards  

About You

To be successful in this role you will:  

• Be an experienced Family Lawyer confident running files without supervision 
• Be an approved Legal Aid Lead Provider for Family Law 
• Have strong experience in both parenting and relationship property matters 
• Be confident appearing in court and managing litigation 
• Demonstrate excellent client care, organisation and communication skills 
• Be able to step into an existing caseload and manage matters effectively
