While the role is designed for a senior-level practitioner, all meritorious candidates, including experienced intermediate solicitors with strong technical skills, will be considered.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated practitioner ready to take on a high-autonomy position with responsibility for supervising the estate administration division within a thriving practice.
About the Role

Managing all aspects of estate administration, including probate/letters of administration, distributions, and trust-related matters.
Advising on succession planning, including wills, EPAs, asset planning structures and trust governance.
Providing clear and practical advice on relationship property law, especially as it intersects with estate planning, trust structures, asset protection and private client work.
Overseeing trust formation, variations, resettlements, and trustee advisory matters.
Handling associated property transactions, including residential, commercial, rural and complex asset transfers.
Supervising and mentoring a small team of fee-earners within the private client and estate administration team.
Working closely with a supervising partner while maintaining a high degree of independence in day-to-day client work.
Assisting in developing and refining systems, processes and client service frameworks within the team.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
8+ years’ post-qualification experience, ideally across property, trusts, estates, succession planning and private client advisory work. Experienced intermediate solicitors with exceptional skills will also be considered.
Strong knowledge of relationship property law, particularly in the context of estate planning, trusts and asset structuring.
Excellent technical ability, communication skills, and client care standards.
Confidence managing files independently and providing leadership within a team setting.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
A proactive, motivated, self-starting mindset.
A desire for meaningful career progression within a respected Dunedin practice.
What’s on Offer
We offer:
A competitive remuneration package based on experience and skill level.
A supportive and collegial working environment.
High levels of autonomy with access to senior support when required.
Exposure to a broad and stimulating range of estate, trust, property and private client matters.
A genuine long-term pathway for career advancement.
