Senior Property Lawyer – Dunedin / Otago 

8+ Years' PQE (All Meritorious Candidates Considered) 

A well-established and rapidly growing legal practice in the Otago region is seeking a senior-level property lawyer to join its busy and highly regarded team. 

 This is a rare opportunity for an experienced, driven solicitor to step into a senior autonomous role with genuine career progression and long-term leadership prospects. 

About the Role  

You will work closely with the supervising partner while enjoying a high level of autonomy and responsibility, including: 

  • Residential and commercial property conveyancing 
  • Subdivisions and large-scale development projects 
  • Commercial transactions and rural transactions 
  • Estate planning, trust formation and succession planning 
  • Relationship property matters as they relate to property and private client work 
  • High-value private client work 
  • Supervision, mentoring and training of junior solicitors and legal staff 
  • File management, client care, and strategic input into practice growth 

About You 

We are seeking a lawyer who: 

  • Has at least 8 years’ PQE (all strong candidates will be considered) 
  • Has extensive experience in property and related commercial work 
  • Possesses a strong technical grounding in: 
  • Residential & commercial conveyancing 
  • Subdivisions and development work 
  • Rural transactions 
  • Estate, trust and succession planning 
  • Relationship property matters 
  • Is a motivated self-starter with excellent file and time-management skills 
  • Is confident supervising junior lawyers and contributing to team leadership 
  • Has a collaborative and team-focused approach 
  • Enjoys working in a high-trust, high-performance environment
