Due to ongoing work for earthquake strengthening at the Wellington High Court Building, the Wellington Law Library has been relocated to Level 2, 126 Lambton Quay.
An access card is required for entry, otherwise please phone 04 473 6202 to be admitted during business hours.
We are staffed 8.30am–5pm Mon–Fri.

Wifi access to NZLS Library resources on your own device is available.
All library content, and its location, can be found in the Library catalogue on the computers.
Contents pages of the latest journals and new books are displayed near the study tables.
Valuable and high use items may be in the Closed Reserve collection (identified as such on the catalogue).
Closed Reserve material is located in the Library workroom and only available during staffed hours, as you will be asked to sign for these items.
Use the library catalogue to find journals and reports by title; it gives the bay number for each one.
The Law Society Library also has an extensive online collection of databases. Two computers are available for practitioners to use to access these databases.

The Library has a photocopier/printer available for use. Instructions on how to use this are located by the photocopier.
Lawyers can access Library subscription databases on their own devices when working in the Library, via the NZLS Library WiFi network. PDFs can be saved to these devices, however printing via WiFi is not currently available.
Gowns for Court use can be hired from the Library daily or for extended periods (25% discount for more than 10 working days). We advise booking in advance.
There are a number of desks located around the Library.
The Library has a small kitchen which has tea and coffee making facilities available for patrons use. Additionally, there is a microwave, toaster and fridge.
