On behalf of Hon James Meager, Associate Minister of Transport, the Ministry is seeking an experienced board director or executive to serve in the commissioner position on the @Transport Accident Investigation Commission.
For this appointment round, the Minister is seeking candidates with deep legal expertise. The successful candidate will be an experienced barrister or solicitor who has held a practising certificate for more than seven years, or a District Court Judge.
Priority competencies and experience include:
TAIC is an independent Crown entity subject to the provisions of the Crown Entities Act 2004. TAIC’s principal purpose is to determine the circumstances and causes of certain aviation, maritime and rail accidents and incidents, with a view to avoiding similar occurrences in the future.
