The Crown Law Office in the Cook Islands is looking for a lawyer experienced in the criminal law to join its prosecution division.

Working in the Crown Law Office in the Cook Islands provides a unique opportunity to practice in a friendly and supportive environment.

The work is varied and involves not only conventional criminal prosecution but also prosecutions under maritime laws, particularly as they relate to fisheries.

The successful candidate will also be expected to respond to requests from law enforcement agencies in other jurisdictions under the Cook Islands mutual assistance laws. The successful candidate may on occasion be asked to assist in other practice areas, including legislative drafting, commercial and contract law, civil litigation, international law and public law.

The role is ideally suited for a person who specialises in criminal law but wishes to have the opportunity to be involved in other areas of practice as well. We particularly welcome and encourage applications from Cook Islanders.
