As the Registration Authority for Chartered Professional Engineers, we play a critical public interest role, investigating complaints, maintaining professional standards and ensuring robust, fair and transparent regulatory processes.
About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this is an ideal role for a senior, trusted in-house legal advisor offering real scope and influence. You’ll provide expert legal advice across the organisation while leading complex complaints, investigations and disciplinary matters in a professional regulatory environment. This role will suit someone who can confidently guide identify legal and regulatory risk, knows when to escalate issues, and takes initiative to resolve problems, regardless of where they sit organisationally.

This role is based in our central Wellington office, with flexibility to consider between 30 and 37.5 hours per week.

We are looking for an experienced legal professional who enjoys variety, responsibility and working at the intersection of law, public interest and professional standards. You will be confident exercising your judgement, operating autonomously, mentoring junior staff, and be known for spotting issues early and dealing with them constructively.
