New Zealand Law Society - Special membership initiatives in 2025

Special membership initiatives in 2025

Delivering additional benefits for our Law Society members.

Here are some of the initiatives we have underway in 2025 with special value for Law Society members.

National AI research project

We have invited lawyers to contribute to a survey about their perceptions of AI and its use by the legal profession. The research is being undertaken by LexisNexis and findings will be shared mid-year through a webinar and workshops. Law Society members will also have special access to insights, tools and training about AI.

Wellbeing in Action webinar series

We will soon be launching this monthly interactive session for lawyers to learn and apply techniques to better manage their wellbeing. Law Society members will be eligible for a 30% discount.

New Lawyer Conference 2025

Save the date for our inaugural New Lawyer Conference at the exciting new Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre on 22 August. More information to come. Law Society members are eligible for a 30% discount on registration fees.

Deloitte Inhouse Insights survey

This three-yearly survey will include industry benchmarking of salaries and the number of inhouse lawyers vs total number of employees in relation to financial turnover. We will launch the findings at the ILANZ conference in 2026, with the complete report available to ILANZ members only.

Our Partner Programme

Hundreds of Law Society members are already accessing the benefits of our Partner Programme.

We are continuing to extend the offers available. This includes a special focus on products and services for sole practitioners and small to medium sized firms, such as affordable cybersecurity awareness training.

From 1 July 2025

Law Society members can get 25% off a selection of books on wellbeing. For all other UBIQ books, the member discount is 20%.

Law Society members who take out or renew a subscription with LexisNexis will also be eligible for a $250 LexisNexis e-Store voucher
