Law reform committees

The law reform committees are comprised of one Law Reform Committee and 16 specialist committees. 

Law Reform Committee 

The Law Reform Committee assists in drafting the Law Society’s submissions on bills and discussion papers, based on contributions from the specialist law committees and the Family Law and Property Law Sections. Committee members also assist with review of submissions, and may contribute to the work of the specialist law reform committees. 

Specialist Law Reform Committees 

Most of the Law Society’s law reform work is carried out by 16 specialist committees, alongside the Family Law and Property Law Sections. These committees provide subject matter expertise in the following areas of law:
