Using the Library

The Law Society Library is a private library for use by members and associate members of the New Zealand Law Society, the Judiciary, the Ministry of Justice Court staff and Law Faculty members only.

The Library's comprehensive collection supports the day-to-day reference and research needs of users. For practitioner's convenience a full research and case request service is available.

Research libraries are located in Auckland, Wellington, and Canterbury with smaller branch libraries located throughout the country. After hours access is available at many of these libraries as is WiFi access.

Library services also include: copying, gown hire, locker hire (Auckland and Wellington) and provision of exam materials for those sitting the New Zealand Law & Practice exam.

Wellington Library has a meeting room available for hire for the day or less. The meeting room seats six around a table and up to nine.

Charges for some services apply and are quoted on a GST exclusive basis.
